Wine tasting at a family farm near Šmarje

The vineyard above Šmarje has been worked by the same family for three generations. The tasting takes place in an old stone cellar that stays pleasantly cool even in mid-August.
You'll taste five wines — two Refošk, two Malvazija and a Muscat — alongside home-cured prosciutto, cheese and bread with the farm's own olive oil. The owner will happily tell you which wine came from a good year and which from a hard one, and why you can taste the difference.
The tasting is a conversation, not a lecture. Questions are welcome.

Practical information
A narrow paved road leads to the farm; parking is in the courtyard. If everyone in your group is tasting, arrange transport — it's a 15-minute drive from Koper and a taxi is worth it. The cellar has stone steps, so non-slip shoes are recommended.
