Istrian cooking workshop in old Koper

Hosted by: Istrska kuhinja pri Tereziji

Terezija cooks the way her nona did, and in her kitchen in Koper's old town she passes that knowledge on.

Together we knead the dough for fuži, prepare a seasonal sauce — asparagus in spring, truffles in autumn — and bake a dessert. Everything we cook, we eat together, with a glass of local wine and a view over Koper's rooftops.

The workshop runs in Slovenian or English, and the recipes stay with you — every participant gets a printed set.

What's included

  • All ingredients and use of the kitchen
  • Shared lunch with a glass of wine
  • Printed recipes
  • Apron for the workshop

Practical information

The workshop takes place on the first floor of an old townhouse with no lift. The kitchen is a home kitchen, not a professional one — that's part of the experience. Let us know about allergies and dietary restrictions in your inquiry; most can happily be accommodated and a vegetarian version is always possible. Park in the garage under the market (5 min walk) or come on foot from the old town. Suitable for beginners; children from age 8 accompanied by an adult. Wear closed shoes and clothes that are allowed to smell of the hearth.
